Recently,?a new?EMU train designed for the Dapeng Branch Line of the Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway was unveiled at the Xinda Depot. Jointly?developed by?CRRC Changchun?and?Shenzhen Metro?Group, the train combines the performance of high-speed rail with the high-frequency,?metro-style operation of urban rail transit systems.
The?train has?a?maximum operating speed of 160?km/h?and features a 25kV AC traction?power system,?a dual?CBTC-CTCS signalling?system, and?GOA4?fully automated operation capability. Its?body is made of high-strength aluminum alloy?and is designed for a service life of up to 30 years. The train can operate in either 8-car or?4-car formations, enabling capacity to be adjusted according to?passenger demand.
The new train?is?engineered specifically?for the Dapeng Branch Line, a 39.387-km long?route connecting six stations. The line will reduce travel time between Longcheng and?Xinda?to around 30 minutes. When?put into operation, the train?will help support the development of a 1-hour commuting and living network, making intercity travel?more efficient?while promoting deeper?“integration?of four networks”?(mainline railways, intercity railways, suburban railways,?and urban rail transit systems) across?the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
