On May 10, the "Take the Light Rail to the Game" Open Day?was successfully held in Mexico City, welcoming students, football fans, content creators, and media representatives aboard the new light rail train developed by CRRC ZELC?for Mexico City’s?Light?Rail?Line 1. The event served as a platform?for?cultural exchange between China and Mexico.
The journey began?at?the Estadio Azteca?station. Rodrigo Olvera, a CRRC ZELC engineer, introduced the?train’s advantages in?energy?efficiency,?intelligent technology,?passenger?comfort, and adaptation to local operating conditions. Interactive Q&A sessions also helped passengers learn more?about?rail transit?technology. Chinese and Mexican music?filled the carriages, turning?the train into?a mobile venue for?cultural exchange. Thanks to the train's smooth and stable ride, young Mexican football enthusiasts even showcased their ball-juggling skills on?board. Participants praised the quiet and comfortable travel experience.
A coupled trainset can?carry?up to?750 passengers, helping increase?transport capacity?between?Tasque?a and?Xochimilco. With?the new trains put into operation, the line’s daily ridership is expected to increase?from 110,000 to 250,000, while minimum service intervals?will be reduced?to 4 minutes.
