??Recently, 12 sets of 1,200 Nm?/h alkaline electrolyzers independently developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd. were shipped for use in the world’s first industrial-scale “liquid sunshine” demonstration project: China Coal E’Ordos Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 100,000-ton-per-year liquid sunshine project.
??This marks another milestone in the large-scale application of CRRC’s high-capacity green hydrogen equipment. The project will support China Coal E’Ordos Energy & Chemical in accelerating its green chemical transition, promote the integration of the full green electricity–green hydrogen–green methanol industrial chain, and provide a strong project foundation and practical example for the high-quality development of China’s hydrogen energy industry.

??Safer, More Flexible, and More Efficient: Supporting the Large-Scale Application of Green Hydrogen Production from Renewable Power
??The high-capacity electrolyzers developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute use new high-performance electrodes, low-creep gaskets, and highly hydrophilic diaphragms with strong gas-blocking performance, placing their overall performance at the leading level in the industry. Through multi-field coupled simulation covering electricity, flow, heat, and solid mechanics, as well as visualization experiments, the company optimized structural parameters and effectively improved structural strength, heat and mass transfer efficiency, and current efficiency. It also strengthened intrinsic safety by developing a five-layer in-depth safety protection system.

??To ensure product safety and quality, and to meet the project’s high energy efficiency requirements and the need to adapt to wind and solar power fluctuations, the products underwent rigorous testing across the full process, from materials and components to complete equipment and systems. Before delivery, they passed assessments under various complex operating conditions. Electrolyzers of the same model also successfully completed a 1,000-hour field validation test, verifying their safe and stable operation under different working conditions.
??The electrolyzers offer three key advantages
??1.Safer: An “intrinsic safety + multiple sealing + online monitoring” protection system helps prevent leakage throughout the full life cycle.
??2.More flexible: A wide adjustment range of 25%–110% enables long-term stable operation under low-load conditions, with a maximum adjustment rate of 10% per second.
??3.More efficient: Direct-current energy consumption is as low as 4.2 kWh/Nm?, with a temperature difference of no more than 12°C.
??Flexible Green Hydrogen Production from Renewable Power: Building Smart Hydrogen Solutions for Multiple Scenarios
??This delivery is not simply the supply of individual equipment, but a coordinated output of the company’s fully independent technology ecosystem. Centered on flexibility, safety, efficiency, and intelligence, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute has continued to develop flexible hydrogen production, multi-level safety protection, and full-chain innovation covering materials, components, complete equipment, and systems.
??The company has built five core equipment categories: ALK, PEM, and AEM electrolyzers; separation and purification units; IGBT hydrogen production power supplies; hydrogen production DCS; and hydrogen production EMS. Supported by three system services?- intelligent capacity matching simulation, off-grid hydrogen production design, and smart safety factory solutions?- the company has developed an industry-leading flexible green hydrogen production system. It provides system-level solutions with optimized overall benefits for a wide range of renewable energy-based hydrogen production scenarios.

??From major advanced equipment serving rail transit to core hydrogen technologies driving a greener future, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute is ready to work with global partners and contribute stronger CRRC solutions to a zero-carbon future.
